We price our trips based on real adventure factors: time and distance traveled.
We eliminated the "wedding tax" of over-priced and padded packages just because you're getting hitched or want to invite guests. Travel fees are exacting and unpadded.
And we do more than weddings.
EXPERIENCE FOCUSED ADVENTURES
It's important to spend enough time on your big day out together and not rush it. We give ceremonial trips the due time needed to fully enjoy and capture all of the exciting moments. If you want an adventure and a mindful ceremony in nature with or without a sustainable number of guests, consider a full day package. To meet shorter time commitments, we also offer half days.
For non-ceremony events, we also offer two hour sessions local to our home base near Yosemite National Park. These are perfect for couples who had a minimalist wedding with no photography, like at the court house or in your backyard. Also a perfect fit for anniversaries, engagement photos, and adventure family portraits.
We don't just shoot weddings; we are also open to other adventure ideas you want documented. Walking off your last mile of the PCT, taking your newborn baby to the family lake cabin, or even going on a wild date night at a remote hot springs--these are all sweet and simple trips that are more casual in nature, but sometimes worth documenting. Intimate weddings in nature are the new tradition in modern marriage ceremonies. Imagine a guest list of only your most favorite people traveling out to your most favorite place or rural venue. No randos or controlling distant relations. Plus, they a very easy to upgrade to a multi-day adventure!
Get married at a wild lodge in the woods with family on one day, then venture out with us on the next day for a wedding + honeymoon option. Or, take the whole family and friends on a guided adventure into the backcountry by horse or raft. The possibilities are endless!

Love is something we should celebrate every day, but sometimes we need a ceremony to really shout it from the mountain tops! Recommitting used to be a pubic spectacle after the marriage had fractured. But today, people are renewing their vows after finding deeper love.
After enduring the rise and fall of life's tides, a vow renewal can really mark a milestone on your journey together. Our lives together can go through many eras. Vow renewals can be a fun way to say "I do" all over again as you look forward to what is next on your life journey together.
GOLDEN HOUR

Popping the big question on a mountain pass. Venturing out for maternity portraits in your favorite river. Taking the newest member of your family out for baby's first hike. Celebrating your 20th anniversary in a lush wildflower meadow. Finishing the last mile of your PCT adventure.
For the celebrations that are non-ceremonial but still super worthy of remembering, we offer Golden Hours. These are a simple 2 hour commitments local to our home base near Yosemite National Park to document your momentous occasion or just because you want some epic photos for the 'gram.
For folks who want to go the distance, we offer access into the Backcountry: any place not accessible by automotive. Fly in on a small plane, float in on a raft, ride in on a trusted pack mule, or get there by good ol' fashioned boot power. Bring all the comforts of camp with hired guides to spend some quality time in the wilderness. Backcountry locations require a full day or multiple days--yes please!--to travel well and fully enjoy.
Backcountry
Keep it simple and accessible for friends and family with a Frontcountry adventure. Spots like these still offer all the beauty of mother nature with the amenities you might need or desire. Drive up vistas, pull in campgrounds, or very short hikes to that special spot where you want to linger a little while. Gotta have grandparents along for the adventure? Frontcountry locations are perfect for shorter trips into nature followed by a stay at a nearby lodge.

We work hard to create & maintain image integrity to fully & beautifully represent your special day. We also process your images in two color spaces so they look good on screens as well as print. We are old enough to claim that we started shooting weddings on film. Trust us Luddites on this one.
Printing photos seems like an old fashioned thing to do these days, but we believe that you will be missing out with "digital only" packages. And what good are photographs that just sit on a hard drive?That's why even our smallest gigs still receive at least a simple pair of prints in a display folio.
We offer a customized walnut box to our couples so they can keep select photos, pressed botanicals from their wedding site, and other small mementos safe and close at hand.
Our select Dream Prints, acrylic block prints, and archival USB drive are shipped all together in this handsome container. Looks great on a coffee table and stores well if you are van lifers. Made in the USA by excellent craftsmen.

We totally get it! You want your images fast to share with friends and family quickly and easily. After we professionally process all of your images, the first delivered goods are in digital form of an online gallery. From there you can view, share, & download your images and they will be ready to repost to whatever social media platform your heart desires. Later on, you will receive an archival USB drive with your high resolution images for safe keeping. It's size makes it easy to store in a safety deposit box at the bank, in a fireproof safe in the office, or in a duct taped coffee can buried in the backyard--whatever your style might be.

For clients who want to display their photographs in vivid color and clarity, we offer custom large format printing. Forrest has over a decade of fine art landscape printing experience. Before sending off the files to Nevada Art Printers, Forrest spends a generous amount of time working with the digital negative to optimize for the size and printing medium requested by our clients. Special photoshop work is available on request and at the artist's discretion. Print options are nearly limitless, and a short video chat will help us work up a quote for your epic print requests.

To be clear: when you hire Natural Unions, you are hiring photographers. We have extra outdoors training, but we are not officially licensed guides. However, you are in safe, likely over-prepared hands.
We are CPR/First Aid certified, Survival Med Certified Wilderness First Responders, Leave No Trace Aware Photographers, Oath Takers, Safe Space certified, emotionally intelligent, and all around salt of the earth types.
We carry both minor & major medical first aid kits for us and our clients, just in case. For those emergencies we can not resolve on our own, we always have a satellite InReach when we are out in the wild. We haven't needed to hit the SOS button yet, so we feel pretty confident in our planning and decision making, and prioritizing everyone's safety.
We’ve got your backs, hearts, and minds.
